I'd just like to point out that:

  * There is a Taco Bell in London, on Earl's Court Road a block north
of the tube station, though they serve Australian recipe tacos (i.e.,
spaghetti sauce instead of even pseudo-mexican flavor)

  * You may have missed this, but contrary to your report, nearly EVERY
soft drink in Britain, except for the major big names, is sweetened
at least in part with Nutrasweet. As someone who really hates the
taste, you can't imagine how much I get annoyed every time I accidentally
pick up a Tango or discount soft drink without checking the label.

  * What we call biscuits are pretty similar to "scones" there.

  * The US has the same rules about what can be shown at what times of
day on TV (they're voluntary, but if it walks like a duck...), only
    stricter.

  * It's my experience that people in Britain and the rest of the world
in general are far freer with eye contact than urban Americans.
