Anyone tried "All inclusive car rental"?

Post by os.. » Tue, 09 Jan 2001 04:19:44

I am staying 3 weeks in southern Spain, near Malaga, in February. I
have looked around for some decent-priced rental cars, and it seems
that "All inclusice car rental" provides the best price, with $393 for
21 days, compact wagon.

I would feel more comfortable, though, if anyone has experience in
using this broker firm.

Any directions to other rental car agencies at Malaga airport where
someone had a good experience, is welcomed.

Dunno about Spain but last year I dealt with a Portguese company with a
similar name and "all inclusive" turned out to be not so.   They still
demanded an extra few hundred escudos a day for full insurance, or a
deposit of 50,000 escudos.

This is all the more maddening because I have a Mastercard which is
suposed to give me the extra insurance coverage without cost if I use it
to rent a car.   But try telling that to the rental agent.

Have a look at:

SODEXCA (sp?) they have a very good rental plan... especially in Spain and Italy.

"extra insurance" is one of the biggest and most lucrative car hire scams -
especially to the small franchises - of course they insist - it is their
pocket money
