Hi Diane,

I am not sure but the BRB2 may not have thrusters and may require tugs
even if everything is working.  It also might be a requirement at the
port of New York.  I bet some of our Northeast ship buffs know for
sure. <vbg>

With no air conditioning, the Godiva chocolates must have melted all
over the free luxurious bath robes.

New York's finest meeting the ship, must be part of the 7 star service.

BRB's free certificates do keep passengers "hostage".  At the rate they
are giving out the freebies, they will have to be in business for a very
long time just to accommodate all certificate holders!

I saw the BRB being pushed in with a tugboat today from a deck on the Victory
so I knew something was up.

Ray,

The BRB II does require a tug to maneuver in and out of most ports. It is
however, quite convenient, that the Moran tugs we use are painted red so one
*could* be kept alongside at all times and hopefully just blend in! <grin>

NY can be a tricky port due to the strong tides on the Hudson and tricky
winds. Even the Destiny requires tugs some times.

What's the previous name of the BRB 2? (It's not the Oceanic?)
Atlantic?

Although BRB/Premier has had its share of problems lately and the public
should be informed of them, I would try to stay away from message headings
like "Passengers held hostage?"... This is misleading and could worry
relatives of passengers when this in fact another mechanical failure...
