Early reports are that a gunman at the El Al ticket counter of the
Thomas Bradley Terminal at LAX shot and killed at least one passenger
and was shot and killed by airport security.
Early reports are that at least others werer wounded and one possibly
stabbed.
Bradley Term is being evacuated.

Gunman was shot by El Al security. Some problem because there were SUPPOSEDLY
some rumours of bomb etc and with the gunman dead, the police can't verify
those rumours.

This was at the ticket counter.

About 900,000 people are expected to travel though LAX in the next couple of days.

So you are suggesting that El Al security should have taken the extreme effort
of making sure that they only wounded the cowardly arab moslem terrorist, just
so that the bomb claim could be investigated?

How many more dead do you feel that is worth?

No, I didn't mean to imply this. I was just trying to put into words some
comments made by initial TV reports. As a matter of fact, the commentators
interviewed an ex El Al security agent who explained how those landside armed
guards are trained to shoot only when absolutely necessary. Assuming that the
El Al security didn't injur any innocent folks, he should be blameless.

The El Al agent would not have known about some other rumour at the time.

Media did show hazmat trucks approaching LAX later on.

LAX police confirms that they also have 2 persons that they are
holding/questioning at the moment.

2 confirmed dead. (victim killed by ***ed, and ***er killed by El al security).

The local news is following this right now. It looks like they're letting people already
inside the airport board planes and the planes are taking off but they're not letting
anyone enter the airport to pick up arriving passengers. They're advising arriving pax to
take taxis offsite and meet elsewhere. It looks like real mess for anyone near LAX today.

Also, a private plane crashed into a park in San Dimas at about the same time with
fatalities.

Air Canada shows that its flight 792 to Toronto departed LAX at 12:20.

Does anyone know if AC uses the Tom Bradley intl terminal at LAX or does it
use a domestic one ?

Count of victims is now up to 2, this makes it 3 dead (2 victims and the gunman).

It is interesting to see how the media deal with the use of the word
"terrorist" in this instance.

There are, in my opinion, 3 possibilities:
-*** (eg: someone hired to kill a particular person)
-crazy lone terrorist
-organised crime/organised terrorism.

On FOX, I just heard a French man who was at the counter when it
happened. He said the man was Arabic and that in less than 15 seconds
the shooting was over and the gunman and victims were dead. He gave very
high marks for the way El Al handled it.

LAPD (police) have arrested 2 other that were out on the street.

Air Canada uses Terminal 2 at LAX. Not the Bradley terminal, which
techinically is Terminal 4.

Huh? Bradley terminal is called just that. Terminal 4 handles American
Airlines and American Eagle flights. Point your browser at

AC uses a domestic terminal. It think it's the second terminal coming into the
airport.

You can check http://www.lawa.org/lax/laxframe.html to see which airline uses
Tom Bradley.
